Scope and content

Series consists of correspondence between E.J.M Campbell and university administrators, medical professionals, colleagues, former students, editors, and publishers. Correspondence is predominately from the time frame before E.J.M Campbell was Chair of the Department of Medicine at McMaster University (from 1964- early 1968 while living in England), and from his time after he was Chair- as R.S. McLaughlin Professor of Medicine ( from 1975-1991). Included are letters, CV’s, articles, bibliographies, postcards and one photograph. Correspondence is primarily professional in scope and reflects recruitment activities, visiting professorships, and activities increasing the visibility and reputation of McMaster Universities "problem based learning" pedagogy to other universities internationally. A small amount of material is personal correspondence intermixed in some files.
