The series consists of the correspondence, programme committee minutes, and programs pertaining to Osler Day events hosted by the Academy. In addition, there is a pamphlet titled "A Preliminary Account of the Proposal that the Hamilton Medical Society, The Wentworth County Branch of the Ontario Medical Association should take a leading part in the foundation of an Osler Memorial".

Sir William Osler was a Canadian physician, and he considered to be the "Father of Modern Medicine". He was also known as one of the "Big Four" founding professors of Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
General note
There was five Osler celebrations in Hamilton.
- 28 December 1927: Dedication of the Osler cairn in Dundas.
- 27 February 1935: Osler Day with medical clinics and demonstrations.
- 1936: Osler Prize essay
- July 1949: Celebration of the 100th anniversary of Osler's birth, held at the cairn and in the Academy's library.
- July 1983: Celebration of Osler's birth hosted by Dundas and McMaster University.
